Assumption Academy, a vibrant Catholic Preschool through Grade 8 school in Broadview Heights, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and service-oriented full-time K-8 Technology Teacher and IT Support Specialist for the upcoming school year. This unique position combines classroom instruction with school technology support. The successful candidate will inspire students to become confident, responsible digital learners while helping maintain and support the school's technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to Catholic education.
Responsibilities Technology Instruction Plan and deliver engaging technology lessons for students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Teach digital citizenship, keyboarding, coding, productivity applications, research skills, and emerging technologies. Foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving through technology-based learning experiences. Support and collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate technology across the curriculum. Maintain a positive, faith-centered classroom environment that supports the mission of Catholic education. School IT Support Provide first-level technical support for faculty, staff, and students. Assist with the management and maintenance of school devices, including Chromebooks, laptops, interactive displays, and classroom technology. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. Coordinate with outside technology vendors and service providers as needed. Assist with technology inventory, device deployment, and software updates. Support school events and activities requiring technology setup and operation.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Valid Ohio teaching license or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure. Experience teaching technology and/or providing technology support preferred. Strong understanding of educational technology tools, Google Workspace for Education, and device management. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and families. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Must successfully complete or maintain VIRTUS certification and all Diocese of Cleveland requirements.
