The Lake County Catholic School Network is seeking a vibrant, culturally-minded Foreign Language Teacher to join our faculty. This position serves students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade, introducing them to the beauty of a new language and the richness of global cultures within a faith-based environment. Whether you specialize in Spanish, French, Latin or another world language, we are looking for an educator who can make language learning interactive and fun for our youngest learners while building a strong academic foundation for our middle schoolers.
Position Details Target Grades: K–8 (Elementary and Middle School) Status: Full-time (can negotiate a part-time schedule if that's a preference) Location: This is a position at both All Saints and Mater Dei Academy in Wickliffe, OH. Both schools are located on Euclid Ave about one mile apart. Language Preference: Spanish, but other languages will be considered.
Key Responsibilities Dynamic Instruction: Design and deliver age-appropriate lessons that emphasize speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Cultural Integration: Incorporate music, art, food, and traditions to bring the language to life and foster a global perspective. Faith Connection: Integrate Catholic values and prayers into the target language (e.g., teaching the Sign of the Cross or common prayers). Differentiated Learning: Adapt teaching methods to engage various age groups—from play-based learning in Kindergarten to structured grammar and conversation in 8th Grade. Assessment: Evaluate student progress and prepare 8th-grade students for high school language placement exams.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, World Languages, or a related field. Certification: Valid Ohio Teaching License (Multi-Age PK-12 in the target language) or the ability to obtain one. Fluency: High proficiency or native-level fluency in the target language and English. Communication: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff.
Compliance: Must pass FBI/BCI background checks and complete VIRTUS training.
