The Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Benedictine High School is a member of the Advancement team and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This role is responsible for telling the story of the school through engaging content across social media, digital platforms, website, newsletters, and print materials, while ensuring alignment with the school's mission, values, and educational offerings. The position is responsible for effectively engaging diverse stakeholders, including prospective families, current students, alumni, donors, and the wider community.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy: Develop and execute an annual strategic marketing & communication plan aligned with the school's objectives, leveraging market research, data analysis, and trends to drive enrollment growth and brand recognition. Establish a fiscal calendar that ensures all marketing & communication activities align to the goals and objectives of the departments.
Brand Management: Uphold and enhance the school's brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communications, including print, digital media, events, and other marketing materials.
Digital Presence: Assist to manage the school's online presence, including the website, e-mail, social media platforms, and other digital channels, ensuring compelling content, engaging campaigns, etc.
Advertising and Promotion: Plan and manage advertising campaigns, both online and offline, coordinating with media partners and agencies to optimize reach and impact. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with admissions and development teams, academic departments, and administrative staff to align marketing & communication efforts with enrollment goals, fundraising needs, and educational initiatives. Serve as a key liaison between the school and external creative agencies, ensuring alignment with the overall brand strategy and production calendar. Serve as the Editor in Chief of the Ora et Labora Magazine (published 3x’s per year).
Analytics and Reporting: Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate marketing performance, track key metrics from website, social media platforms, and meta business suite, as well as generate reports to inform decision-making and refine strategies. Budget Management: Assist in the oversight of the marketing budget, allocating resources efficiently to maximize ROI across various marketing initiatives.
Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with local community organizations, feeder schools, educational associations, school staff, and media outlets to expand the school's network and visibility.
Key Additional Responsibilities: Social Media Management ● Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase visibility, engagement, and brand awareness across platforms (i.e., Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.). ● Create, curate, and schedule content including photos, videos, stories, and live coverage of events ● Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with the school community ● Track analytics and generate regular performance reports to guide improvements Communications and Content Creation ● Draft and edit internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, website content, and email campaigns. ● Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for admissions, advancement, and other school initiatives. ● Support storytelling through interviews, photography, and videography that highlight students, alumni, faculty, and school events. ● Serve as the Editor in Chief of the school’s seasonal publication, Ora et Labora, while working closely with the Director of Media & Content Production and other contributing editors. ● Manage the school’s website to include updating, content creation, etc.
Required Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field ● 1–3 years of professional experience in communications, social media, or marketing ● Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills ● Proficiency in social media platforms, content scheduling tools (i.e. Meta Business Suite), and basic graphic design tools (i.e Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) ● Photography and videography skills are a plus ● Ability to work some evenings and weekends for event coverage ● Understanding of and respect for Catholic values, with willingness to support the school’s mission and faith-based environment
Preferred Qualifications: ● Experience in Catholic or private education, non-profit, or mission-driven organizations ● Familiarity with website CMS (i.e WordPress) and email marketing platforms (i.e Constant Contact) ● Proficient in Photoshop
