St. Mark School – Cleveland, Ohio 2026–2027 School Year Full-Time St. Mark School, a vibrant Catholic school serving students in Preschool through Grade 8, is seeking an enthusiastic, faith-filled, and student-centered Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who inspires a love of writing, communication, and critical thinking while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, collaboration with colleagues, and the mission of Catholic education.
Primary Responsibilities: - Teach English Language Arts to students in Grades 6, 7, and 8. - 7th grade homeroom teacher - Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with Diocese of Cleveland and Ohio Learning Standards. - Foster strong analytical thinking, vocabulary development, grammar, writing and communication skills. - Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. - Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and educational technology to enhance student learning. - Assess student progress and communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic growth. - Maintain a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment that supports student success. - Collaborate with faculty, administration, and families to promote student achievement and well-being. - Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and the faith life of the school community.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. - Valid Ohio teaching license: K-8 or Middle Childhood (Grades 4–9) or ability to obtain appropriate licensure. - Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and families. - Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary commensurate with education and years of teaching experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive, faith-filled work environment Upon Hire: Candidate must obtain certifications required of all full-time employees at schools in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland : VIRTUS certification; Religious certification through Diocesan online courses (approximately 4 classes, 4 hours each, spread over 2 years)
