As a part-time St. Augustine Catholic School music teacher for the 2026-27 school year your duties are outlined below, however, this is not an exhaustive list of job expectations. The position includes being a strong musician and educator who possess the ability to instruct and engage all students through active music making, knowledge and willingness to integrate a variety of classroom instruments, knowledge, and willingness to direct and facilitate programs throughout the year, display a strong desire to collaborate with colleagues and pursue professional development, utilize various forms of technology, and positively contribute to our school culture.
Responsibilities include: • Provide a grade-appropriate elementary instructional music education program of engaging and interactive activities/songs for various grade and skill levels from kindergarten through 8th grade • Articulate the mission and vision of St. Augustine School to students, parents, and the greater community • Create a classroom environment in which every student can succeed and which establishes high academic and behavior standards • Create a positive rapport with students, parents, and staff • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students • Maintain a safe classroom environment • Prepare and maintain appropriate records and progress reports • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage • Be supportive of and collaborate with colleagues and administrators • Participate successfully in the faculty professional development and evaluation system • Perform other duties as may be reasonable assigned by the administrator
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in music or related field from an accredited school • Appropriate criminal records as verified through a check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation • Virtus trained or in the process of training • Committed to the education of students in an urban area • Engaged in continual professional development • Operates from a stance of what is in the best interest of the students • Proficiency in the use of computer software and programs • Hold a valid Ohio teaching license or certificate
