Parish Administrative Assistant: Transfiguration Parish

Transfiguration Parish in Lakewood is seeking a qualified and professional Administrative Assistant to join our staff in a Part-Time capacity. This role is central to our mission of providing a welcoming environment as well as essential support to clergy, staff, ministries, and parishioners.
Job Overview: Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30am-2:00pm
Reports to: Pastor
Core Responsibilities:
Reception: Act as the first point of contact by answering phones and providing direction or assistance to callers; monitor and respond to voice messages; monitor and respond to emails.
Visitor Relations: Greet all visitors with a welcoming and friendly demeanor, handling requests efficiently to maintain a hospitable atmosphere.
Liturgical Support - Mass Scheduling: Receive and process requests for Masses and Mass Offerings; Coordinate the monthly Mass calendar for clergy.
Weekly Parish Bulletin: Prepare and process and submit to the publisher the weekly parish bulletin.
Sacramental Records: Update all parish sacramental records as needed. Process requests and type official certificates for Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, and Marriages. Other: Coordinate the logistics for Baptisms and Funerals, including scheduling with the Pastor. Prepare parish mailings as needed. Assist with other parish programs and events as needed.
Professional Qualifications Communication: Good interpersonal and written communication skills. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office. Organization: Proven ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple administrative tasks with high attention to detail. Teamwork: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented ministry environment.
Personal Qualifications: Comfortable working in a faith-based environment and supporting the mission of the Catholic Church. Warm, welcoming, and compassionate presence. Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated. Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs. This position requires a clear background check and any other Diocesan requirements for parish employment.
