Parish Custodian: St. Joseph Parish

Parish Custodian Location: St. Joseph Parish – Avon Lake Compensation: $15/hour Schedule: 20 hours per week ________________________________________

Position Overview The Parish Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of parish facilities at Saint Joseph Parish. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and well-kept environment for parishioners, staff, and visitors by performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and event support duties. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. ________________________________________

Key Areas of Responsibility • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout parish buildings and grounds • Support parish activities and events through setup, takedown, and general assistance ________________________________________

Primary Duties • Clean, dust, and mop all floors and surfaces • Vacuum carpets, mats, and rugs • Clean restrooms, including mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floors; restock paper products as needed • Empty trash and recycling in all areas • Clean glass doors and windows • Assist with event setup and teardown as required • Conduct seasonal exterior work as needed ________________________________________

Qualifications • Previous custodial experience preferred • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks safely • Commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment within parish settings
