Parish Summary: Church of the Assumption is a faith filled community with rich history and established in 1857. The Parish serves it communities through worship, spiritual development, education and outreach. We are a large suburban parish with over 1600 registered families and our diocesan school, Assumption Academy, founded in 1957 has over 200 students in Preschool through eighth grade.

Job Title: Principal, Assumption Academy

Reports To: Pastor FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time with Full Benefits Contract Time: Twelve (12) Month Contract Salary: Commensurate with Qualifications and Scale Summary of Position The Principal supports and implements the Pastor's vision for Assumption Academy, in alignment with the mission of the Diocese of Cleveland Catholic Schools to form students as virtuous disciples of Christ. This role is a vital ministry, requiring a commitment to exemplifying the ethics and integrity of the Catholic faith. This position requires administrative, instructional, spiritual, and professional leadership with an emphasis on Catholic identity and discipleship of Jesus Christ. The Principal assumes administrative responsibility and instructional leadership, planning, supervising, and evaluating the educational program and articulating the school's vision.

Key responsibilities include leading the school's high-quality academic programs integrated with Catholic values, managing school operations, developing faculty and staff, overseeing accreditation, and fostering strong community and parish relationships. Functions and Responsibilities • Instructional & Spiritual Leadership: Administer the school according to Diocesan and local policies, providing leadership for achieving the goals of Catholic education. Support and nurture a strong Christian community within the school, providing opportunities for liturgical expression and sacramental life. Drive curriculum development, staff supervision and development, and ensure student success through effective discipline and program management. • Administrative Duties: Manage human resources, including hiring, assignment, supervision, and evaluation of all faculty and staff. Oversee financial management in collaboration with the Parish Business Manager, ensuring legal compliance, effective record-keeping, safety drills, and technology planning. • Community Engagement: Maintain strong, ongoing communication with students, parents, faculty, the local school board, and the Superintendent. Work collaboratively with the Advisory Board and Parents CORP.

Qualifications The successful candidate will be a faith-filled, Christ-centered, dynamic leader with a genuine commitment to Catholic education. • Faith Requirement: Practicing Catholic who subscribes to the tenets of the Catholic Faith. • Education: Master's Degree (preferably in Educational Administration) or a related field with administrative coursework. • Experience: Four (4) or more years of school administration or equivalent experience. • Preferred Skills: Ohio Administrative License, Catechetical Leader Certification, strong technology skills, experience with mediation, and marketing skills. • General: Strong background in teaching and leadership, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Range

$65,000 — $80,000
