Job Summary St. Anthony of Padua School is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and reliable individual to join our school community as a School Cleaner / Janitor. The successful candidate will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students and faculty, reflecting the care and stewardship valued in our Catholic mission. This position requires availability for part-time, with flexible start time, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities The responsibilities listed are representative of the position but are not all inclusive. General Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, offices, and restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.

Sanitation: Disinfect all high-touch surfaces and ensure restrooms are fully stocked. Waste Management: Manage daily trash and recycling removal throughout the building.

Event Setup: Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture for school functions, assemblies, and parish events.

Security: Monitor and secure the building at the end of the shift by ensuring all doors and windows are locked.

Required Qualifications Criminal History & Background: Due to the nature of working in an elementary school setting with children, applicants must have a clear criminal history. A comprehensive background check is required, and any convictions for disqualifying offenses (including those related to child safety or violence) will be cause for disqualification.

Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in English to effectively follow written safety protocols (such as chemical safety labels), understand verbal instructions, and communicate with school staff.

Mission Alignment: High level of respect for the Catholic faith and the ability to work within a faith-based environment. Must be ethical, a good communicator, and a self-starter. Ability to collaborate with the staff, faculty, and volunteers. Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive physical tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs. Compliance & Safe Environment Clearances: Successful candidates must complete the mandatory diocesan "Safe Environment" training (e.g., VIRTUS) and provide fingerprints for a state and federal background check prior to the start of employment. Compliance: This school follows all state and federal guidelines regarding employment, including EEOC standards for individualized assessments when applicable.

Range

$12 per hour — $12 per hour
