Our Lady of the Elms

Our Lady of the Elms School (the Elms) is seeking a School Counselor to support students K-5. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our team. Your role will be to provide academic and emotional guidance to our students. A successful candidate will be experienced in counseling and possess a genuine passion for fostering the personal and academic growth of students. Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): ● Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, social, and personal issues ● Assist students in setting academic and personal goals and developing plans to achieve them ● Identify issues affecting students’ academic performance and suggest interventions ● Facilitate conflict resolution among students and promote a positive and respectful school environment ● Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ well-being and success ● Plan and lead workshops on topics such as stress management, bullying, and possibly college preparation ● Maintain confidential records of students’ progress and counseling sessions ● Coordinate with local community resources and services to support students and families ● Stay up-to-date with educational and counseling trends and participate in professional development opportunities ● Uphold and enforce school policies and communicate positive support of the school to the public in word and deed. ● Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws. ● Maintain appropriate work habits, including professional, collaborative relationships with other staff members. ● Complete Virtus training and follow-up bulletins promptly. ● Regular and punctual attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS: ● Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field ● Valid state license as a school counselor or equivalent ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ● Strong ethical and moral standards ● Experience with various counseling techniques for children and adolescents ● Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training. Range

$30/hour — $36/hour
