Social Studies Teacher Benedictine High School – Cleveland, Ohio Benedictine High School is seeking a qualified and mission-driven educator to join its Social Studies Department. About Benedictine High School Benedictine High School is a Catholic college preparatory school in the Benedictine tradition, forming young men of mind, body, and spirit. Guided by the Rule of St. Benedict, our community challenges students to pursue excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in their spiritual lives. Position Overview The Social Studies teacher supports the mission of Benedictine High School by forming students intellectually, morally, and spiritually. Through engaging instruction in history and the social sciences, the teacher helps students develop the analytical thinking, historical understanding, and civic awareness necessary to navigate and contribute to the modern world. Teachers at Benedictine are committed to high academic standards, continuous improvement, and collaboration with colleagues in pursuit of student growth. Faculty members actively contribute to the life of the school community through mentoring, moderating activities, and supporting the broader mission of the school.

Responsibilities The Social Studies teacher will: ● Support the formation of students in the tradition and Rule of St. Benedict. ● Design and deliver rigorous, standards-based Social Studies curriculum aligned with the school’s college preparatory mission. ● Foster students’ ability to analyze historical events, evaluate sources, and think critically about contemporary issues. ● Use student performance data to inform instruction, differentiate learning, and support student growth. ● Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that supports both academic success and character formation. ● Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to continuously improve instruction and curriculum. ● Provide appropriate academic and behavioral support to students, working with counselors, administrators, and families when necessary. ● Maintain positive relationships with families to support student learning and development. ● Participate in professional development and departmental collaboration. ● Contribute to the life of the school community, including moderating activities, supporting student events, and attending school functions.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will: ● Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Benedictine High School and the formation of young men. ● Be passionate about teaching high school students and helping them grow academically and personally. ● Be open to feedback, professional growth, and collaboration with colleagues. ● Have the ability to use data and differentiated instruction to support student learning. ● Be proficient with classroom technology and instructional tools. ● Show strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, colleagues, and families. ● Hold a valid Ohio teaching license or be pursuing a Resident Educator License. ● Have experience teaching in a Catholic or mission-driven educational environment, or demonstrate a willingness to support the Benedictine tradition.
