St. Mary School Wooster Elementary Principal Opening

Position: Seeking a principal with the desire and ability to lead a staff in educating an immigrant population at historic St. Mary K-8 Catholic School in Wooster, Ohio.

Enrollment: 125 students

9 full-time teachers

3 part-time teachers

1 secretary

Academic/Professional

Requirements:

•Master’s Degree (preferably in Educational Administration)

• Standard Elementary Principal Certificate/License

•Successful teaching experience (3 – 5 years) at the elementary level

•Understanding of Catholic Theology and Philosophy of Catholic education

•Three letters of recommendation pertaining to qualifications

•Leadership experience preferred

Personal Requirements:

•Servant leader with a love for working with students and families

•Practicing Catholic with a personal philosophy, value, and lifestyle, which are consistent with a position of leadership in a Catholic school

•Ability to work collaboratively with parish administration, faculty, staff, parents and parish organizations

•Ability to maintain consistent, positive discipline, respecting each person as well as an appreciation of cultural differences

•Ability to articulate and implement a vision for the school in areas of curriculum, outreach and technology

•Ability to create an atmosphere of welcome and open dialogue

•Experience with school finance/budget requirements and government programs
