St. Barnabas Catholic School Position Title: STEM and Computer Teacher Full-Time Position Summary The STEM and Computer Teacher at St. Barnabas School will design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) while also providing computer literacy and digital skills education for students in grades PK–8. This role supports the integration of technology across the school, promotes responsible digital citizenship, and inspires students to explore innovation and creativity in alignment with the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities STEM Instruction Develop and teach age-appropriate STEM curriculum that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Incorporate hands-on, project-based learning experiences aligned with current science and mathematics standards Foster curiosity and innovation through lessons that connect STEM concepts with real-world applications Computer and Technology Education Provide direct instruction in computer science and digital skills including keyboarding, word processing, coding, internet safety, and responsible digital citizenship Support student learning through the use of digital tools and platforms in collaboration with classroom teachers Prepare students with foundational digital skills that support success across the curriculum School Technology Support Assist with school technology systems including backend support for FACTS and NWEA MAP data and reporting Support classroom teachers with instructional technology tools and basic troubleshooting as needed Help promote effective and responsible use of technology throughout the school community Collaboration and Innovation Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the Specials team to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities Contribute to a school-wide culture of creativity, innovation, and responsible technology use Support teachers in integrating STEM thinking and digital tools into classroom instruction when appropriate Student Leadership and Communication Coordinate and facilitate morning announcements through the school’s student broadcast program (SBTV) Provide opportunities for students to develop communication, collaboration, and leadership skills through the broadcast program Assessment and Differentiation Use a variety of assessment tools to measure student understanding and guide instruction Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including advanced learners and students requiring additional support
Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Education, Computer Science, Elementary Education, or a related field Valid Ohio teaching license Experience teaching STEM and/or technology in a PK–8 setting preferred Knowledge of current best practices in STEM instruction and digital learning Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education Please submit resume and cover letter to Brad Seislove BSeislove@barnabasohio.org
