Overview: Beaumont School is seeking Substitute Teachers who will be responsible for enabling each student to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of their regular teacher. Substitute Teacher duties include (but are not limited to) taking attendance, explaining coursework, and overseeing classroom management. Beaumont School, founded in 1850, is the oldest school in the Cleveland Diocese and the oldest all-girls secondary school in greater Cleveland. Inspired by the example of Saint Angela Merici to serve others and champion the education of women, Beaumont is dedicated to a college preparatory and International Baccalaureate liberal arts education. The all-girls Catholic high school in the Ursuline tradition that educates women for life, leadership, and service is a culturally diverse learning environment that encourages every student to develop the qualities she needs to thrive academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in an evolving global society.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree, Valid Ohio Substitute License, or Ohio Teaching Certificate • Qualified to instruct in our schools in the absence of the regular teacher • Willingness to support the mission and vision of Beaumont • The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check Qualities: • Excellent communication, verbal and written • Active listener • Adaptability and flexibility • High level of integrity and intuitiveness • Organized and excel at time management • Promotor of lifelong learning

Position Responsibilities: • Checks in/out with authorized personnel at the beginning of the day and prior to leaving • Reviews with the principal or designee, all plans, duties, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day, teaches the outlined lesson, and maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which they are assigned • Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates • Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and surrounding areas
