COMMITMENT: This position will be offered a faculty contract, working commitment is August - early June, with holidays consistent with the school calendar. Saint Martin de Porres High School is seeking a Technology Instructor to be part of an innovative urban Corporate Work Study (CWS) college-prep high school experience for the 2026-2027 school year.

OUR ORGANIZATION Saint Martin de Porres High School is a Catholic college-preparatory program designed exclusively for students of modest means. Eighty percent of our students will be the first in their extended families to go to college. Our rigorous curriculum, which includes students working in a corporate environment, was designed specifically for our school by a committee of prestigious educational leaders. Saint Martin was founded in 2004 and is chartered by the state of Ohio and accredited through the Ohio Catholic Schools Accrediting Association. Our mission is to transform urban Cleveland one student at a time and we are committed to the values of work, study, service, leadership and prayer. We are a part of the Cristo Rey Network of schools founded in 2001.

POSITION SUMMARY The CWS Technology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality, applied technology instruction that prepares Saint Martin de Porres High School students to effectively use workplace technology tools in professional environments. This role focuses exclusively on technology skill development aligned to real-world workplace readiness applications used in college and the modern workforce. This teaching position provides instruction to primarily freshmen and sophomores, with additional instruction across upper grade levels as needed, with a focus on: -Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) -Windows operating system navigation and productivity tools -AI tools and prompt-based applications for academic and workplace use -Technology skills commonly expected in professional office and corporate settings -IT systems, software applications, and foundational programming skills that support preparation for industry-recognized technology credentials (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, or other workforce-aligned certifications) -The Technology Instructor works collaboratively with the Corporate Work Study (CWS) team to ensure technology instruction aligns with the tools and systems students use in their job placements. Instruction focuses on hands-on practice and real workplace applications, preparing students to use technology effectively rather than learning it in theory. -Working within the CWS department, this individual is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing technology instruction that builds student proficiency and confidence in professional technology environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a general representation of this position's critical duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed. -Designing and delivering technology-focused lessons and projects aligned to workplace use cases. -Teaching Microsoft Suite and related productivity tools at a functional, career-ready level. -Introducing and supporting responsible use of AI tools for productivity, analysis, and content creation. -Preparing students for technology-based assessments, certifications, or skill benchmarks. -Monitoring and assessing student progress toward defined technology competencies. -Maintaining alignment of the technology curriculum across grade levels and semesters. -Collaborating with CWS staff to ensure instructional consistency and relevance to workplace expectations. -Assign and grade student classwork, homework, tests, and assignments. Provide appropriate feedback on student work to help students improve their technology skills and digital proficiency. -Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, and apply effective classroom management strategies. -Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. -Consult on the planning and execution of technology-based credentials and certification opportunities aligned to workplace technology skills. -Stay up-to-date with current industry trends, emerging workplace technology trends, and tools.

EDUCATION: -Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. -Experience teaching or facilitating learning in a classroom or training environment; state teaching certification preferred

EXPERIENCE: -Minimum of one to two years of experience teaching or facilitating technology instruction in an educational setting. -At least one year of experience working with high school–aged students in a classroom, professional, or structured volunteer environment. -Experience delivering instruction focused on workplace technology tools and digital skill development. -Demonstrated ability to differentiate technology instruction to support students with a range of learning needs and technical skill levels. -Strong technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, Windows-based tools, virtual instructional platforms, and digital collaboration tools.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS: -Ability to work with teenagers from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. -Organized with very effective time management skills. -Capable of managing several initiatives simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment. -Understands the need for and is able to maintain and protect all confidential materials and information. -Strong problem-solving skills. -Ability to relate to and effectively communicate with various audiences including students and parents; corporate sponsors; and colleagues. -Strong team player, able to work closely with CWS team members, faculty and staff. -Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: -Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
