Pastoral Juvenil Leadership Team. A core group of young adults from the Hispanic Catholic community form the leadership team for Pastoral Juvenil Hispana. In addition to planning activities and supporting parish ministries with youth and young adults, this group is also part of the Midwest Catholic Association of Hispanic Youth and La Red National Catholic Network.
Vocations Awareness. The Hispanic vocations committee was formed in 2018 to increase awareness and discernment of priestly and religious vocations within the Hispanic Catholic community. The diocesan Vocations Office, in collaboration with parish priests and parishioners of the seven (7) parishes involved with Hispanic ministry, meet every three (3) months to discern how to effectively promote vocations.
Emmaus Institute. A comprehensive formation program for parish volunteers to facilitate their work in ministry as group leaders and ministry coordinators. The course of study includes four foundational modules (biblical, theological, pastoral, and spiritual). Students will also have the opportunity to choose a specific ministry area in which to specialize.
Successful Marriages. A marriage enrichment program for married couples and those living together, as well as couples preparing for marriage. This program is a comprehensive resource for marriages in crisis and strengthening healthy marriages and families. We offer two retreats a year.
Parish Companion Program. In collaboration with the Diocesan “Welcoming the Stranger” Committee, the Parish Companion Program seeks to help immigrants and refugees with legal concerns, deportation and family separation. Trained volunteers offer moral and spiritual support, as well as referrals to Migration and Refugee Services at Catholic Charities.
Community Outreach. Our office develops and maintains relationships with secular and ecumenical organizations that offer services, education, and human development to Hispanics / Latinos such as the Hispanic American Committee, Esperanza, Hispanic Alliance Committee, and the Mexican Consulate.
Juan XXIII Movement. Juan XXIII is an evangelization movement founded in Puerto Rico that focuses mainly on those who have fallen away from the Church and the marginalized in our society. The local chapter offers five (5) retreats a year for men and women at its own retreat house located at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Cleveland.
Charismatic Renewal. Catholic Charismatic Renewal invites all people to experience the Holy Spirit who opens us to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and the love of the Father. Prayer groups meet regularly in parishes. Seminars, Masses with prayers for healing, annual retreats and days of renewal are also offered.
Cursillo de Cristiandad. The Cursillo is an apostolic movement. Its goal is to share with the community the essence of Christianity and Christian values and in this way gradually transform the community from within. It is lead by a leadership team of “cursillistas.” Every year two retreats are held at St. Augustine Church in Cleveland.
