Pope Francis says in Amoris Laetitia, “...a family that remembers has a future. Our contemporary experience. . challenges us to make our families places where children can sink roots in the rich soil of a collective history.” (AL, 193)
Transitions can be a difficult time as we have role changes at work and at home; Pope Francis has called on us to Accompany people during all of these situations, including empty nesting, caregiving, or perhaps personal illness. Often our children have left the faith and we rely on our parish family for support. The Marriage and Family Ministry office can help a parish develop programming to serve the needs of the people.
For example, we have collaborated with Catholic Cemeteries to develop some resources for families that are dealing with end of life issues, or perhaps you serve by caregiving on both sides with adult children at home and caring for elderly parents.
