A holistic approach to fertility and family planning.
Fertility awareness education helps in understanding and appreciating the natural fertility cycle of a woman’s body. There are educational resources and evidence based methods available for every stage of life: mother-daughter, teens and young adult women, engaged couples, married couples, etc.
“…to make use of the gift of conjugal love while respecting the laws of the generative process means to acknowledge oneself not to be the arbiter of the sources of human life, but rather the minister of the design established by the Creator.” (Humanae Vitae, #10)
Teaching our children to know, read, and understand the language of their body does not have to be uncomfortable and awkward. There are online resources and local workshop available for parents and guardians to introduce and prepare kids.
The Cycle Prep Workshop is a first period course. Recommended for girls age 9-13, this special time together will give mothers and daughters the tools to navigate puberty positively and confidently. The information covered is comprehensive but age-appropriate, not just about periods, but about the whole menstrual cycle as a vital sign of health.
If you would like to host a workshop at your parish, please contact our office.
Christina from Pearl and Thistle walks through three main categories of fertility awareness based methods. She also share a few tips and questions to ask potential instructors to help you find the best method for you.
Classes are available both in-person and online, in groups or individually. Proper instruction and training is key!
