Second Marriage (CANA II)

A CANA II program was often suggested when couples have been married before and one or both of them are parents with young children.  This may be suggested for couples that are married civilly and presenting for Convalidation, or perhaps they have been cohabitating for many years and are now approaching sacramental marriage in the Catholic church.  All of these circumstances are unique to the couple and we suggest pastoral listening and decisions that are most appropriate for their situation.

For couples who have stepchildren, we recommend the Active Parenting for Stepfamilies Program. Please visit their website for more information and classes.

For couples that are approaching a second marriage that are more mature without minor stepchildren; we suggest a more tailored experience with the pastor or Marriage Mentors through Prepare-Enrich meetings that include discussions about blending family finances.
