Missionary Discipleship

A missionary disciple is a “roving storyteller who joyfully captivates hearts to Christ by sharing in word and deed the greatest love story in the history of the world.” We are all called as missionary disciples to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples for Jesus Christ. 

The office of Missionary Discipleship empowers men and women of all ages to discern their baptismal call to be missionary disciples and use their gifts to serve the Church and build up the Kingdom of God, personally witnessing to the love and grace of God.

Our mission is to:

• Engender a culture of missionary discipleship in each faith community, with a focus outward to the peripheries.
• Empower the faithful to nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, especially in prayer and the Sacraments.
• Challenge the faithful to discern their gifts and use them for service, accompanying others in faith on the journey.
• Fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28) to go out, animated by the Holy Spirit, to captivate people in the community with the Gospel message of hope and love.
