Walking with Moms in Need is a parish-based ministry that seeks to accompany pregnant and parenting mothers (and fathers) in need with compassion, support, and practical resources.
Rather than a one-time program, it is a way of being Church—a commitment to ensure that every woman who needs help can turn to our parishes to find welcome, care, and real assistance.
At its core, this initiative invites parishes to:
Every parish is called to be a place where life is received, protected, and nurtured.
Walking with Moms in Need helps parishes:
This work reflects the Church’s broader mission to uphold the dignity of every human life.
The Church’s call to accompany mothers flows directly from Evangelium Vitae, which reminds us:
“We must identify the steps we are called to take in order to serve life in all its truth.” (EV, 95)
This vision is not abstract—it is lived out in our parishes, neighborhoods, and relationships.
Pope Francis further challenges us to be a Church that goes out to the margins. He encouraged us all:
"I desire that all those places where the Church is present, especially our parishes and our communities, may become islands of mercy in the midst of the sea of indifference."
Walking with Moms in Need is already active in parishes across our diocese—and growing.
