Diocesan Youth Advisory Council

The Diocesan Youth Advisory Council is a diverse group of teens from across our diocese selected to be the voice of the Young Church to the Bishop, to make the needs of youth known to him and to our youth ministers, and to form leaders as missionary disciples to their peers, families, and parishes.

  • Remain active as a missionary disciple, leader, and role model within the parish.

  • Active, practicing, Catholic
  • Confirmed or preparing for Confirmation
  • Currently in 10th or 11th grade
  • A role model to peers

Teen Applications were due February 10, 2024.

Next year's Youth Council applications will open January 2025.

Note: We receive many applications, and not all will be chosen to be on the Youth Council. We encourage you to remain active in your parish youth ministry and/or high school campus ministry!

Recommendation Forms were due February 28, 2024.

Teens must have two letters of recommendation:

  • One must be from your youth minister, campus minister, priest, deacon, or parish staff member.
  • One additional recommendation from any of the above or a coach, teacher, youth ministry volunteer/core member, employer, scouting leader or adult that observes you in a leadership position (not your mom’s best friend).

Waiver Form was due February 28, 2024.

A parent/guardian is asked to complete this form for their teen who is applying to be on the Council.
