Case specialists are priests, deacons, or lay ecclesial ministers who have additional training to assist petitioners and respondents involved in petitions of marriage nullity.
If you need the assistance of a case specialist, refer to the Begin a Case page. Parish ministers who are not case specialists can review our guidelines for how you can assist your parishioners.
The tribunal holds training sessions on an annual basis. Participants must have taken or audited a course on canon law, typically as part of their formation program but also accessible to everyone through St. Mary Seminary.
The 2026 Case Specialist Training is currently scheduled for September 14 through October 27. Registration will be opened in future months. If interested, please contact Fr. Adam Zajac directly to be notified when registration is available.
