Case specialists are priests, deacons, or lay ecclesial ministers who have additional training to assist petitioners and respondents involved in petitions of marriage nullity.
If you need the assistance of a case specialist, refer to the Begin a Case page. Parish ministers who are not case specialists can review our guidelines for how you can assist your parishioners.
The tribunal holds training sessions on an annual basis. Participants must have taken or audited a course on canon law, typically as part of their formation program but also accessible to everyone through St. Mary Seminary.
The 2025 Case Specialist Training is scheduled for September 15 through October 28. Registration is now closed. If interested, please contact Fr. Adam Zajac directly.
