Ministry of Accompaniment

As Lay Ecclesial Ministers we are called to live out Pope Francis' call "into this 'art of accompaniment' which teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other.” (Evangelii Gaudium, 169)

In this workshop, Christy will explore the practical elements of what accompaniment is and is not along with providing the spiritual and theological elements that are necessary to build a more relational church.

Christy Cabaniss serves as the Director of Missionary Discipleship for the Diocese of Cleveland. She has over 15 years of experience volunteering and working for the Church. Christy holds a Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from Seton Hill University, Greensburg, and a master’s degree from St. Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore.
