Position Summary

Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Girls Flag Football Head Coach to lead and develop its flag football program.

The successful candidate will bring strong communication and organizational skills, successful coaching experience, and a commitment to total program development. The Head Coach will build a positive and competitive program while supporting the mission and Holy Cross values of Archbishop Hoban.

Archbishop Hoban is a private Catholic high school rooted in the Holy Cross tradition, committed to educating both the hearts and minds of students. The school celebrates diversity, values each person, and seeks to foster a welcoming community grounded in the hospitality of Christ.

Essential Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Develop the overall vision and direction of the girls flag football program.

  • Lead the development, growth, and promotion of the program.

  • Establish and maintain high standards for team behavior, discipline, sportsmanship, and accountability.

  • Ensure students and adults associated with the program are held to consistent standards.

  • Promote teamwork, respect, discipline, and personal growth.

  • Support the athletic and educational mission of Archbishop Hoban.

Coaching & Player Development

  • Supervise practices and competitions.

  • Develop individual athletic skills and overall team performance.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional and coaching techniques to meet the needs of student-athletes.

  • Provide instruction and development appropriate for high school flag football players.

  • Motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their potential.

  • Foster teamwork, leadership, discipline, and respect.

  • Maintain flag football equipment and ensure it is properly cared for.

Professional Development

  • Attend staff development meetings, coaching clinics, and other professional activities.

  • Continue developing coaching knowledge and skills.

  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director and other members of the athletic program.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Ohio Pupil Activity Permit or ability to obtain one.

  • Successful completion of required online coaching training modules.

  • Ability to supervise practices and competitions after school and on weekends.

  • Leadership experience with the ability to support, motivate, and inspire others.

  • Successful completion of required criminal background checks.

  • VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training or willingness to complete training.

Preferred

  • Previous successful high school coaching experience.

  • Strong knowledge of girls flag football and player development.

  • Experience developing and growing an athletic program.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to Catholic education and the Holy Cross mission.

Schedule & Working Conditions

  • After-school practices and competitions are required.

  • Weekend competitions and activities may be required.

  • The position requires flexibility based on the athletic schedule and program needs.
