Holy Trinity School, located in Avon, Ohio, is seeking a practicing Catholic to serve as a Long-Term Substitute Religion Teacher for students in Grades 6–8 from August 20 through October 15, 2026.

Position Summary
The Long-Term Substitute Religion Teacher will inspire students to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ while teaching the Diocese of Cleveland Religion Curriculum. The successful candidate will create a faith-filled classroom that supports students' spiritual, academic, and personal development while advancing the mission and values of Holy Trinity School.
Essential Responsibilities
Teach Religion to students in Grades 6–8 using the Diocese of Cleveland Religion Curriculum.
Plan and deliver engaging, faith-filled lessons that promote both academic achievement and spiritual growth.
Integrate Catholic teachings, Sacred Scripture, prayer, and Church traditions into daily instruction.
Create a classroom environment rooted in respect, compassion, and Gospel values.
Maintain positive classroom routines and effectively manage student behavior.
Assess student learning and maintain accurate records of assignments and grades.
Communicate professionally with parents, faculty, and school staff.
Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and parish staff to support student success.
Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and other faith-centered activities.
Uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications Required
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
Bachelor's degree.
Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Successful completion of all Diocese of Cleveland employment requirements, including:
VIRTUS / Protecting God's Children certification
Required FBI/BCI background checks
Preferred
Degree in Education, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.
Current Ohio teaching license (not required for this substitute assignment).
