Parish leadership invited to attend presentations on dealing with change

John Reid, founder of The Reid Group, a national Catholic Church consulting and mediation firm will be making presentations in the Cleveland diocese to offer insights and skills in understanding and dealing with change.  His presentations will be directed to various levels of leadership in parishes including: Parish Pastoral Councils, Finance Councils, Parish Merger/Closing Transition Teams, Cluster Planning and Coordination Teams, Pastors, Administrators, Parish Life Coordinators, and members of Parish Groups.  Participants will discover how to be more effective in addressing resistance, conflict and transition.  They will also learn ways to honor the past and deal with hurt and loss on a personal and interpersonal level.

The first session will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at St. Basil the Great Parish Center, 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH.

The second session will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Center for Pastoral Leadership, 28700 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe, OH.

John Reid will also make a presentation to the 4th Convocation of Lay Ecclesial Ministers on Friday, September 11, 2009, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Ministry leaders experience many different realities, issues and challenges.  This day will explore the reality of change, conflict and transitions and the skills needed for individuals and groups to move forward with hope in hard times.  Participants will be invited to transform the challenges of change and the struggles of conflict into opportunities for new learning and new life.
