A Week for Giving Thanks

News of the Diocese

November 23, 2011

On Thanksgiving families will gather around their tables to give thanks, however, the days prior to Thanksgiving are full of thankful acts throughout the diocese.

On Tuesday afternoon, parishioners from St. Thomas More Parish prepared a Thanksgiving lunch for 200 people at the West Side Catholic Center. You can see photos of the lunch by clicking here.

The West Side Catholic Center, opened in 1977, is most known for their food and clothing programs via their Drop-In Center, but did you know that they also operate Zacchaeus Housing Solutions to "rapidly re-house homeless individuals and families living in shelter" and A Women and Children's Shelter that provides a "full range of transitional services that assist residents in moving from homelessness to stable housing and employment."
