News of the Diocese

February 15, 2012

PLEASE NOTE: Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Cleveland DOES NOT view President Obama's "compromise" as a compromise at all or any kind of solution to the untenable situation the federal Health and Human Services mandate puts us in as Catholics.

Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Cleveland kicked-off this year's Annual Appeal at all parishes in the diocese February 18-19, 2012.

The Annual Appeal, for health and human services delivered in the eight counties of the Diocese of Cleveland, supplements other funding sources for its programs that serve the elderly and disabled, the hungry and homeless, and children and families in need.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the Annual Appeal in the Diocese of Cleveland.

The total pledged for the 2011 Catholic Charities Annual Appeal was $10,807,149 through the generosity of 58, 503 donors.  The 2010 Appeal received pledges of $10,443,886 from 58,719 donors.  The goal for the 2012 Appeal is $10.5 million.

Donations can also be made at or by calling 216-696-6525, ext. 1049.
