Catholic Charities Housing Corporation (CCHC) and the City of North Olmsted are pleased to announce the proposal to develop the Apartments at St. Richard, a senior residential apartment community, located on the St. Richard Catholic Church campus has been approved for funding through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.
The proposal put forth by CCHC is for the new construction of a two-story elevator building consisting of 34 units of apartments for seniors age 55 and older who meet income guidelines. The building will offer 26 one bedroom units and 8 two bedroom units, community room with kitchen for resident activities, outdoor patio, laundry facilities, and resident parking. The fully independent apartment units will provide a full kitchen with new appliances, full bath, spacious living and dining area, one or two bedrooms, abundant closet space and beautiful finishes throughout.
The location of the senior apartments is the southern portion of the church parking lot.
The City of North Olmsted supports the development of the Apartments at St. Richard. The development plan is consistent with the North Olmsted Master Plan which recommends "a wide variety of housing types and densities to ensure an adequate housing supply for all residents, including senior citizens," said Mayor Kevin M. Kennedy who is fully supportive of the development.
Under the development of the Diocese of Cleveland Facilities Services, Catholic Charities Housing Corporation has developed over 700 units of affordable senior housing throughout the eight counties of the Diocese of Cleveland, many in partnership with local parishes.
