When Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005, six Catholic communities of religious women lost more than convents, chapels, cars and motherhouses. They also lost buildings housing ministries that served the families of New Orleans - high schools, daycare sites, community centers and senior nursing home facilities.
The Sisters faced a soul-size dilemma: To remain and rebuild or to minister elsewhere. Their stories - their struggles facing the storm and the giant obstacles of rebuilding - are told in a poignant and compelling one-hour documentary, ?We Shall Not Be Moved: The Catholic Sisters of New Orleans.?
The program will air on WEWS-TV5 at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7. ?Set up your DVRs if needed, but don?t miss this compelling, inspirational film,? said Sister of Charity of Cincinnati Sally Duffy, a co-executive producer of the film.
