35th annual "Walk of Hope" benefits persons with disabilities - October 13

News of the Diocese

October 9, 2012

Catholic Charities Disability Services and Ministries will host the 35th Annual Walk of Hope for Persons with Disabilities through Cleveland?s historic Tremont neighborhood Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.

Many people come to Disability Services and Ministries because they find hope and a welcoming community. For 46 years, these Diocesan offices have been a support to our Parishes ministries to persons with disabilities. In addition, they provide needed ministries and services to assist the integration of persons with disabilities in to the life of the church. We are proud that they are one of the largest Diocesan Disability Services & Ministries in the United States.

100% of the funds raised at the Walk of Hope will benefit the ministries and programs for persons with disabilities, their loved ones and their supporters. Persons with disabilities have been particularly impacted by the recent economic downturn. The Walk of Hope is even more important because of this.

The Walk, which is one of Cleveland?s oldest, begins at OLA/St. Joseph Center, 2346 West 14th Street. It features a tour of the historic sites and businesses along the route making it an educational experience as well. Walkers can also participate in a special Walk around Lincoln Park led by local celebrities at 11:00 a m. Music, celebrity walkers, refreshments and prizes are all part of this unique Walk. Join them for this fun, family event!
