Click the image to visit the Bishop's Twitter Page On January 7th, following the lead of Pope Benedict XVI (Twitter handle @Pontifex), the Most Reverend Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland joined millions of people, including many bishops and priests, on Twitter. The Bishop, in the same fashion as the Holy Father, authors and approves posts to his account, @BishopLennon. The Bishop's tweets include reflections on daily prayer and scripture, information about his travels throughout the diocese, and short excerpts from homilies and addresses.
In his message for the 44th World Communications Day in 2010, the Holy Father wrote, "Responding adequately to this challenge amid today's cultural shifts, to which young people are especially sensitive, necessarily involves using new communications technologies." The Holy Father has encouraged Church leaders to engage the faithful via social media.
The Bishop's Twitter account is another branch of the diocesan social media outreach. In addition to this opportunity, the Diocese manages a Facebook Page, a Twitter account (@DioceseofCLE) and a YouTube Channel.
