Most Reverend Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland blessed three new members of the Catholic Church near the conclusion of the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday night March 30.
Holy Week, the most solemn week of the Church year, began on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013 and concludes with Christ's glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Bishop Lennon celebrated the Chrism Mass on Tuesday evening March 26
Most Reverend Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland celebrated the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. This is the annual Mass where Bishop Lennon blesses the holy olis that are used by the priests of the Diocese of Cleveland in the year ahead. For the first time, those who were unable to attend the Chrism Mass had the opportunity to watch it live on-line. Most Reverend Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland celebrated the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist located at E. 9th & Superior Avenue in downtown Cleveland on Thursday, March 28, 2013 which began at 7 p.m. This is the annual Mass where Bishop Lennon washed the feet of twelve adults members of the Catholic faith community as an act of humility. The twelve adults represent the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ.

Bishop Lennon celebrated the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday night March 30
Most Reverend Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland celebrated the Easter Vigil Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on Holy Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. The Mass began in total darkness in the back of St. John Cathedral at the E. 9th Street entrance doors. The Easter Vigil Mass is the first celebration of Easter and includes the reception of new members into the Church. New members to the Catholic Church were welcomed in parishes throughout the eight-county Diocese of Cleveland.
