Fortnight for Freedom ends July 4th - Parishes asked to participate in special Mass

News of the Diocese

June 7, 2013

With the prospect of the first phase of the Government's Health and Human Services Mandate scheduled to be implemented on August 1st, Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon along with the U.S. Catholic Bishops are once again asking for prayers and actions to preserve religious liberty.

The federal government's new healthcare mandate requires employers to pay for healthcare coverage which violates the beliefs of our faith and others. The government is requiring that Catholic institutions pay for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception.

A special Mass is scheduled for Thursday, the 4th of July at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland.  All are invited to attend.

A complete list of suggested parish resources and prayers is available by clicking onto the "Fortnight for Freedom" banner at the top of this web site' home page....or by clicking HERE to view all the materials.
