The Reverend Sandor Siklodi, Pastor, Saint Emeric Parish, Cleveland died Wednesday, 31 July 2013, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.
Sandor Siklodi was born on 20 April 1947. On 18 April 1971 he was ordained for the Diocese of Transilvania. The diocese was elevated to the Archdiocese of Alba Iulia in 1991.
After consultation with Reverend Janos Szoke, SDB, Vicar for Hungarians in Europe, and Most Reverend Ladislaus Iranyi, Bishop for All Hungarians living outside of Hungary, and Reverend Richard S. Orley, Pastor of Saint Emeric Parish, Cleveland, Father Siklodi was appointed in 1985 Associate Pastor of Saint Emeric Parish, Cleveland, serving the needs of the Hungarian people. In 1988 Father Siklodi was appointed administrator of Saint Emeric and later named pastor. In 2010 Saint Emeric Parish closed. Father Siklodi then served as administrator of Saint Stephen, King of Hungary in the Archdiocese of Chicago. On 19 October 2012 Father Siklodi was appointed pastor of Saint Emeric when it reopened. Throughout his priestly ministry Father Siklodi served the Catholics of Hungarian descent.
The wake will begin with Vespers on Sunday, 25 August in Saint Emeric Church, 1890 West 22nd Street, Cleveland, at 3:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 26 August in Saint Emeric Church at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Endre Bela Gyulay, Bishop Emeritus of Diocese of Szeged-Csan
