The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Cleveland (SVDP) will host its annual "Friends of the Poor Walk" at Richfield Woods Park in Richfield, Ohio on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The fundraiser will generate dollars to meet the increasing demand for food and other emergency relief services to the poor in Northeast Ohio.
In order to make the event successful for those individuals interested in walking or those wishing to sponsor a walker, we request your help in getting the word out to people within your local parish community.
The walk is free and fun for all ages. Registration and parking are free, participants will receive a t-shirt, water bottle, refreshments and prizes. The family-friendly paved route is less than one mile and accommodates strollers, wheelchairs and individuals of all ages. To participate or donate, register online: www.fopwalk.org.
The walk is an ideal way for students to earn service hours. Parishioners could use the walk as a way to ban together to help the many needy individuals and families in our region. All monies raised will directly benefit Northeast Ohio's low-income persons. Individuals can even designate funds to a specific parish based SVDP conference.
