Bishop of 30 Years Remembered at Funeral Mass in St. John Cathedral
The Most Reverend A. James Quinn, 81, a priest of the Diocese of Cleveland for 55 years of which 30 were served as an Auxiliary Bishop, was memorialized today (Friday, October 25, 2013) in a funeral Mass celebrated by Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon and more than a dozen other bishops. Hundreds of priests from the Diocese of Cleveland and Bishop Quinn's family and many friends filled the Cathedral to capacity (1200).
Father William Browne, a longtime, close friend of Bishop Quinn, was the homilist who compared the Bishop, who died a week ago, to Pope Francis. He said Bishop Quinn has a Franciscan outlook with many friends, a love of nature, and is one who brought love, healing, and joy to those he encountered.

Father Browne also called Bishop Quinn a "Man for all Season" who had a huge heart and an amazing mind.
In the final Commendation, Bishop Richard Lennon echoed his earlier statement that Bishop Quinn lived the three-fold ministry of Jesus; teaching, sanctifying, and guiding people.
Interment took place following the funeral Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
