Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon, in response to a request from Catholic Relief Services, is asking the 185 parishes of the Diocese to offer a special, second collection the weekend of November 30 - December 1, 2013.

The funds will be sent to Catholic Relief Services, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic Community in the United States.  The funds will benefit the Philippine people who are victims of super typhoon Haiyan.  With wind speeds of 195 mph, it is now recorded as the strongest tropical cyclone on record tio have made landfall.  An estimated 9.5 million people are suffering from the destruction.

Donors are advised to make checks payable to their individual parish (memo - Typhoon Relief).  The parishes are then being asked to submit a totaled single check to the Diocese Finance Office made payable to "Diocese of Cleveland."
