The Apartments at St. Richard?a new 34 unit, $6.5 million dollar, independent living complex for persons 55 and over will be dedicated in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
Located on the campus of St. Richard parish at 26855 Lorain Road in North Olmsted; it is a project of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland under the auspices of the Catholic Charities Housing Corporation. At the request of the parish, research determined the need for this type of senior housing in the North Olmsted community.
Among those attending the groundbreaking ceremonies is Cleveland Bishop, Most Rev. Richard Lennon; Kevin Kennedy, Mayor of North Olmsted; David Greenspan, Cuyahoga County Council; Hal Keller, President of the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing; Larry Benders, Department of Development Cuyahoga County; Doug Garver, Executive Director of the Ohio Housing Finance Agency; and Patrick Gareau, Catholic Charities Health & Human Services.
Larry Murtaugh, Executive Director of the Diocese Facilities Services Corporation said the 14 month construction project went very well, ?We are thrilled to see the project completed as this has been a shared effort by so many and will serve seniors in the North Olmsted area for many years to come. The Apartments at St. Richard offer so many superb amenities but mostly it will be a wonderful place to call ?home?.?
The two story building is designed with an elevator; one and two bedroom apartments with full kitchens including appliances, abundant closet space, a community room, patio, library, laundry facilities and resident parking.
