The Apartments at St. Richard...a new 34 unit, $6.5 million dollar, independent living complex for persons 55+...was dedicated in a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.
Located on the campus of St. Richard parish at 25595 Country Club Blvd. in North Olmsted; it is a project of the Catholic Charities Housing Corporation. At the request of the parish, research determined the need for this type of senior housing in the North Olmsted community.
Diocese of Cleveland Bishop, the Most Rev. Richard Lennon said a special prayer and then passed through the audience sprinkling holy water to bless the facility.
Also attending the dedication ceremony was the Mayor of North Olmsted Kevin Kennedy who was a graduate of St. Richard Elementary and was thankful for this second senior living complex constructed by Catholic Charities in his city. The other is located at St. Clarence parish.

Larry Murtaugh, Executive Director of the Diocese Facilities Services Corporation and Catholic Charities Housing Corporation said the 12 month construction project went very well, "We are thrilled to see the project completed as this has been a shared effort by so many and will serve seniors in the North Olmsted area for many years to come. The Apartments at St. Richard offer so many superb amenities but mostly it will be a wonderful place to call 'home'."
The two story building is designed with an elevator; one and two bedroom apartments with full kitchens including appliances, abundant closet space, a community room, patio, library, laundry facilities and resident parking.
