In the Diocese of Cleveland, parishes throughout Lake County will receive recruiting visits from current members of the Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America during the weekend of January 18-19, 2014. Among them will be St. John Vianney in Mentor, St. Mary Magdalene in Willowick, and St. Justin Martyr in Eastlake.
Recruiters will also be on hand at St. Vitus and Immaculate Conception parishes on Superior Avenue in Cleveland.

During the weekend of January 18 and 19, 2014, in an effort to actively recruit new members, the Posts and Auxiliaries of the Catholic War Veterans of the United States of America, will be setting up Information and Application Centers in Catholic churches throughout the nation and at U.S. military installations across the globe.
Organized in 1935, the Catholic War Veterans received an Apostolic Blessing from Pope Pius XI and a Congressional Charter from President Reagan in 1984. With Posts throughout the country, the CWV and their Auxiliary support Active Duty personnel and Military Chaplains worldwide, and veterans here at home in the United States. The organization's motto is "For God, For Country, For Home". Posts and Auxiliaries can often be found attending Mass together on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, volunteering in VA Hospitals and supporting parish and veterans activities during the year.
