The Reverend Paul Krajnik, Senior Priest-Retired, died Monday, 16 June 2014, after having received the prayerful support and consolation of the Sacraments.

Paul Krajnik was born on 29 September 1922. His parents were the late John Krajnik and Antonia (Likar). He was educated at Retece Grade School, Skofja Loka and Real Gymnasium in Solvenia. His post graduate studies were accomplished at Pontifical Russian College, Rome, Gregorian University, Muchen and Oriental Institute, Rome. He spoke Slovenian, Croatian, Spanish, French, Italian and English. He was ordained on 24 December 1950 in Rome, Italy. On 11 April 1968 he was accepted into the Diocese of Cleveland. He was incardinated 6 July 1973 for service to the Diocese of Cleveland.

Fr. Krajnik?s first assignment was as Parochial Vicar of St. Mary, Collinwood. On 9 October 1975 he was named Pastor of SS. Cyril & Methodius, Lorain where he served until his retirement on 9 October 2009. Fr. Krajnik also served as Chaplain for the Lorain Deanery Holy Name Society.

Vespers will be celebrated by Fr. John Kumse on Sunday, 22 June in St. Mary Church, 15519 Holmes Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110 at 3:00 p.m. The wake will continue until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 23 June in St. Mary Church at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Richard Lennon will be the main celebrant and Fr. John Retar will be the homilist. Interment will be at Holy Cross, Lorain.

May Fr. Krajnik and all our priests, deacons and bishops who have died, live forever in the joy of the Resurrection.
