Catholic Relief Services, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States, has asked the Bishops of the U.S. to take a second collection for the benefit of the people of Nepal following their April 25th earthquake which caused devastating damage to a large area and has taken more than 5,500 lives.
The funds will be sent to Catholic Relief Services which is assisting an estimated 2.5 million people suffering from the destruction.
Cleveland Bishop Richard Lennon is suggesting that this special second collection be scheduled the weekend of May 9-10.
Please request that all checks from parishioners be made payable to your parish with the memo marked "Earthquake relief."
Each parish is asked to submit a totaled single check to the Diocese Finance office.
Please make the check payable to the Diocese of Cleveland.
