Archbishop Hoban High School has announced that Ms. Emily Jane Hanson has been appointed Principal of the school effective July 1, 2016. She will succeed Dr. Mary Anne Beiting, who is stepping down after 28 years as a Hoban administrator.
?Serving a religious order-sponsored school, Ms. Hanson has a deep appreciation for the charisms that serve as an institution?s foundation for implementing the school?s mission. Ms. Hanson currently serves as Assistant Principal at Saint Joseph Academy in Cleveland. In this role, she has been responsible for creation of the master schedule, curriculum development and evaluation, academic data collection and interpretation, and the assignment, supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff. She works with teachers and department chairs on professional development and student achievement goals and is responsible for managing the OCSAA (Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association) process.
Formerly as the school?s Dean, Ms. Hanson managed student activities, addressed disciplinary issues, and implemented health and safety policies. She has taught United States Government, Economics, Catholic Christianity, Hebrew Scriptures, Christology and Leadership.
Ms. Hanson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Ursuline College, Pepper Pike, Ohio. She holds a Principal?s Professional License.
