African-American Sister tells forum ?pray and ask the Holy Spirit, what we can do?

The Dominican Sisters of Peace in Akron have established ?Where do we go From Here,? a new committee to explore the issues of race and how the congregation and members of the Akron community can contribute to moving the conversation forward.

The group met at the mother house on the property of Our Lady of the Elms High School in West Akron, where the sisters and about 40 interested people heard from Sister Juanita Shealey, CSJ, an African-American, who has spent a lifetime involved in projects associated with race relations both within and beyond the Catholic Church.

Sister Juanita explained that first we must understand that all people are a gift from God and we need to look at every person in that way.
