Father David J. Halaiko, pastor, Nativity of the Lord Jesus, Akron, was granted permission to be in residence at the rectory of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Akron as a senior priest-retired effective Jan. 1, 2017.
Father William A. Thaden, pastor, Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, was appointed an at-large member of Presbyteral Council and will serve a three-year term effective June 1.
Father Gregory F. Schaut, parochial vicar, St. Mary of the Falls Parish, Olmsted Falls, was appointed chaplain to the Olmsted Township Fire Department effective immediately. This appointment is in addition to his appointment as parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Falls Parish, Olmsted Falls.
Father John G. Vrana, parochial vicar, St. Michael Parish, Independence, was granted permission to retire effective Aug. 30.
