Cleveland Bishop-designate Nelson Perez and Rockville Centre Bishop John Barres hosted Cardinal Gregorio Rosa Chavez, the first cardinal of El Salvador, on a visit to the Rockville Centre Diocese last weekend.
Bishop Perez, who is wrapping up his duties as an auxiliary bishop in Rockville Centre before his Sept. 5 installation as the 11th bishop of Cleveland, assisted the cardinal by acting as a translator for some events, including during an hour-long special edition of ?Encounter,? a program that airs on Telecare TV, the Rockville Centre diocesan cable television station.
