The gathering spot was different this year, but that didn?t seem to matter as nearly 200 people turned out for the 40th annual Walk of Hope on Oct. 7.
?Because of construction at OLA/St. Joseph Center, we had to move the event to St. Augustine Church,? said Marilyn Scott, program director for the Diocese of Cleveland Disability Services & Ministries.
Walkers gathered beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the church hall to register, get a T-shirt and water bottle, enjoy donuts, coffee and conversation before heading out. There were people of all ages and abilities, families, couples, singles and even a few dogs participating.
?All are welcome,? Scott said.
A 2-mile walk through Cleveland?s Tremont neighborhood drew about 100 participants, which Scott said was about the same as last year?s event.
