Four seminarians studying in the Diocese of Cleveland have been called to the order of deacon. Three students of Saint Mary Seminary have been called by the Most Rev. Nelson J. Perez, bishop of Cleveland, for service to the diocese and one student has been called by the superior of the U.S.-Mexico vice province of the Congregation of St. Joseph for service to the order.
The ordination took place at 10 a.m. on Oct. 28 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
Those called to ordination are:
- Matthew Michael Cortnik of St. John Vianney Parish, Mentor
- Michael John Feldtz of St. Patrick Parish Bridge Avenue, Cleveland
- Richard Joseph Samide of St. Mary Parish, Hudson
- Armando Emmanuel Padilla Contreras, CSJ of San José Obrero Parish, Mexico
